America’s Big Three sports? That’s not enough. What about soccer? Cricket? Tennis?
Get ready. It’s time to debate about MORE G.O.A.T.s in the sports world.
Let’s get it!

G.O.A.T.
Soccer
Ronaldo vs. Messi.
That’s what this one is about, although you can argue about others.
That’s what Messi presents to the table, against Ronaldo. Plus, don’t forget about the Ballon d'Or, Golden Shoes, and the other individual awards that this man has earned.
But, please do not make any mistake about Ronaldo.
Now. I’m not a huge soccer analyst, so I can’t tell you who’s the greatest via their style of play. I’ll leave that up to you, but statistically, Messi’s better.
I know I just angered half the world with the decision I just made.
Except Lionel Messi! That’s literally what it states!
Another thing that supports Lionel Messi’s claim. Trophies. They have won a total of 79 OFFICIAL TROPHIES! 44 for Messi. 35 for Ronaldo!
Then again, Ronaldo does lead in most official goals scored.
Most analysts say that when Messi won the World Cup in 2022, that settled the debate.
That’s what I say, too.
Cricket
Please do not tell me that nobody watches cricket and cricket has no fans. FYI. Cricket is followed by 2.5 billion people in the world. As the IPL season continues going on, I will talk about it a bit more.
Hell yeah. There’s Kohli. There’s Dhoni. There’s Sharma. There’s Smith. There’s Warner.
But, no one can even touch the records and amazement (maybe Kohli) that Sachin Tendulkar has provided.
He is the only cricketer to have scored 100 centuries! That’s crazy. The next person in line is Virat Kohli, but he’s 20 behind!
Look at these stats!
He leads by over 2000 runs in the runs category in test cricket, has the most hundreds in test cricket, has a 4000-run lead in the ODI runs category, and has a lead in the 50s category in ODI cricket. These are just a few of the amazing accomplishments this man has made.
This guy is #1 for sure. But, what about #2?
Shubman Gill is looking like the next Virat Kohli but forget about him. What do you think about Kohli vs Dhoni? Who’s better?
Dhoni has a lot of fans. My god you should see this video, but Kohli has more skill. In fact, in all of the records I was mentioning about Sachin Tendulkar, Kohli was the guy who was chasing him. Every. Single. TIME.
So? Kohli is indeed my #2 G.O.A.T player of all time. #1 is Sachin Tendulkar.
Tennis
Serena Williams, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic.
If you’ve been reading Sports Square’s tennis editions, you know how much I hate Djokovic and how much of a Nadal fan I am. If you don’t well… Now you know.
Part of me, makes me want to keep the bias in my next answer, but the other part doesn’t. Let’s stick with the other part. (Ima try as hard as I can.)
Djokovic and Federer are the G.O.A.T’s.
Whoof! That was hard to let out. Let me give you a sentence why.
Djokovic has like 24 Grand Slam titles! Like, he can’t lose! At all!
Roger Federer? He won 103 singles titles on the ATP Tour, the second most of all time, including 20 major men's singles titles (among which a record eight men's singles Wimbledon titles, and an Open Era joint-record five men's singles US Open titles) and six year-end championships. (Wikipedia)
This was an extremely hard choice for the last spot, but if I had to go 3 and 4 it would be just like listed above. Williams then Nadal.
Conclusion:
Like these choices? Don’t? Please make sure to comment and like this post. If this “series” continues to get lots of love? Part 3 is coming.
Alright. The NBA Playoff Picture is set, but at the time of writing this, I’m not exactly sure what it is. I’ll get back to you tomorrow or Wednesday. I’ll just have to list stuff out and compare it to what I predicted in the podcast episode I did with
.
Messi by a mile. Ronaldo is like the Pulisic of int'l soccer. Good enough to get loads of publicity leading up to the world event--not good enough to win anything more than Nations League.
What about the cricket bowlers. Can’t just focus on the batters
