How Celebrities Impact Sports || Unraveling The Taylor Swift Effect
PREVIEW! || CHAPTER 1 || PART 1 OF BOOK
The King Midas of the real-world.
Anything she touches goes viral.
Anything she does goes viral.
Anything she’s involved in…
Guess what?
Goes viral.
Taylor Alison Swift is known as a singer, but is SO big, that she’s built something more than famous. She’s built a brand and with a brand, you can do anything, and her 1.1 billion dollar net worth shows it.
But, here’s the main point. To build a brand, you need to have a following. Once you have a following, you’re viral. Anything you do goes viral! It’s the Midas touch, and the 53% increase in female viewers from ages 12-17 proves it… again! Plus, a 400% spike in sales of Kelce jerseys? All because she is dating Travis Kelce…
I have a lot of mixed feelings. How do you build such a brand? Now… Hear me out. And don’t get me wrong because I’m not a Taylor Swift hater or saying that Taylor Swift is my favorite.
Swift fans care about Swift and not about football. If those people cared about football, then they would be watching it already. And guess what… Once Swift is done dating Travis Kelce or Kelce retires? That 53% increase in viewership for teen girls? Gone! Poof!
The 27 million viewers that the game between the Jets and the Chiefs drew? That was one of the first games that Swift was there. But, without the Swifties, this wouldn’t have happened…
And… To prove the Midas touch.
The New Balance 550 shoes, that Taylor Swift wore to the first game she attended, were up 25%. How do we even know what shoe she wore? Like, what the heck!
Also, and this one was really funny.
The keyword “Heinz” was searched 61% more. All because there was a tweet where Taylor Swift ate chicken tender with two dipping sauces. The tweet states, "Taylor Swift was eating a piece of chicken with ketchup and seemingly ranch!"
But, if you thought that this was wild…
(That’s not real cover…)
Any extra details are greatly appreciated, so if you have any ideas (don’t matter if it’s good or bad), enter it in the comments to win a free 1 month paid subscription to Sports Square or a FREE copy of the book!
If I can’t find enough info, I will release the rest of the story on Sports Square as a series. I’ll be working on this book a lot… Expect a summer release this year. Pages… I don’t even know…
All I’m going to say is that it’s going to be worth your time (money too?) and reading it will help you increase your sports knowledge. It can also be greatly useful for help creating a “brand”.
Share this post with everyone you know. All I’m going to say is anything shared below in the comments may be put into the book (no names… don’t worry).
Also, while you’re at it, check out Sports Square’s new terms of service. Just a few policies you should probably know.
Lastly, contributions mean a lot to me, and if you can do anything to support this publication, it would be very kind of you. As I’ve said… I’m trying to build a movement here. A sports movement. If you share Sports Square, we can get more readers on the Sports Square train. If you decide to donate, I can get more resources to educate. Like Dunks and Threes and other great statistical finds. Anything you do to contribute. Anything.
