Man, that's some heavy Guardians regression. As long as some of the arms hold up, I think Cleveland's going to be right there with the Royals

Yeah, that's something I'm really worried about this season. This is really going to be affected just by their division, as the Royals and Tigers have gotten way better than last season. Last year, the Guardians went 7-6 against the Tigers and 5-8 against the Royals. Things will get worse this season because of the improvements.

It's certainly going to be an interesting year in the AL Central (not for the White Sox)!

I think anybody can realistically win (not the White Sox), it's going to be all about health, lineups and pitching management. Should be a blast to watch!

Not the White Sox. Not the White Sox. Not the White Sox.

Yes, the Guards, Tigers, and Royals all have good chances of winning. I can't name a more interesting division off the top of my head. Imagine if the White Sox were what they were. Would've definitely shadowed this whole Dodgers are buying baseball thing...

Royals 👀

I love the prospectus of this team this season!

I think the NL Central is spot on but Yankees with only 85 got me 😭

Expand full comment

They kinda lost everyone..

Deeper lineup, good rotation and good bullpen. Full year of Jazz and Bellinger, got Fried and Devin Williams. Weaver in high leverage role can pitch multiple innings, Volpe made swing adjustments in the playoffs

Expand full comment

Yes I forgot fried my bad.

But even so, I see Williams getting injured and Bellinger being out for some time. Volpe is volpe and I know he would get better as time goes on, but that leaves you with Judge, Volpe, and Jazz (I'm just saying the players you said).

85 wins I'm should probably be 94, but I can't say more than that. Once again, I tried to make this as fast as I can. No excuses whatsoever though.

It is a very fair production! Even with Soto they only won 94 games. I think the pitching will keep them in games this year even when their lineup slumps

Did you come to these using any statistical method or simulation? Or is it more by gut feel and knowledge?

Expand full comment

Correction what's the point of reading my prediction posts

Expand full comment

Usually when I do a simulation, it's going to have the outcome oracle tag on it, so no I did not do this by simulation, but statistical method is sort of right, as I looked through every team, and kind of made like a record list from top to bottom in one particular advanced stat (which I would not like to share at THIS MOMENT because after that what's the point of reading my posts 😂😅). Then I made a list with my gut and knowledge, and started listing similarities one by one on this post, and took a little from this and that and there you have it.

Yesh, I should probably do these with stats next time. Thank you for the indirect advice 🙏.

I just don't see a world where the Rangers or Rays are that bad....

Expand full comment

We live in a world where the Rays are rebuilding. I guess even baseball teams need a mid-life crisis, huh?

As for the Rangers? Yeah, you're probably right. Everyone's been hammering that point. I didn’t see them doing well this season.

Orioles and Yankees gonna win at least 90 games again. I still got Guardians in AL Central. Athletics winning AL West? Yeah no. Braves will be a lot better, Mets are overhyped too much. Cubs prediction is correct but they are the Cubs. And Dodgers ain't gonna tie the record, but they will win 107. Padres will be good. World Series champs will be the Dodgers again, in my opinion.

Expand full comment

I will agree with the Orioles and Yankees. I honestly didn't know what to do with them. It was confusing. I'm going Royals. A's are winning the AL West. Surprised that you're the first one to point that out. Braves will not be better. I have Acuna getting injured again. If I got a chance to go back and change one record, it would be the Mets, because I just realized they're not winning 103 games but winning 99 games. Cubs could be a bit down, because I actually predicted them getting Bregman late in the offseason and I kinda made this on February 4th... so.... The Dodgers have improved well enough to tie the record. Padres will not be good. World Series champs will be Red Sox or Dodgers. I chose the Red Sox because with the Bregman addition, this team is locked and loaded.

Expand full comment

Love this for the Red Sox, but the Mets will find a reason to self destruct.

Expand full comment

For sure Paul. The addition of Alex Bregman was great, but what really had me giving this record would be the Garrett Crochet addition, and I'm super excited to see what he does.

The Mets will find a reason to self-destruct in the playoffs. I think they'll have an above-average regular season.

Love your prediction! Why not! You have the Dodgers being a juggernaut, but the Res Sox still beating them. Been there done that (2018). They seem to finally have the pitching

Thanks a lot!

Exactly, and as hard as it is to put the Dodgers losing to the Red Sox as a Dodgers fan, that's what I think is going to happen barring a Devers trade or a Crochet injury. Both of those possibilities are in the single-digit percentages.

I see your point, and that's exactly why I said I knew you wouldn't agree with the Rangers aspect of things. Maybe you could swap the Mariners and the Rangers, but for all I've heard from major insiders, many don't see the Rangers doing so well. The record is just my prediction though.

Also, hope you don't mind, but I don't think I can allow advertising posts that are yet to come in the comments section because it kind of takes away from the whole comment. If you do have a post to compare to when you're in the comments section, do share a link, but only if it's already out. I believe this is in the terms. Again, it's only because it takes away from the comment that's all.
